Hat Conformer and Formillion Set
The professional hat conformer and formillion set is designed to capture a customer’s individual head shape and transfer it for accurate custom hat fitting. It provides hat makers with a practical way to reproduce the natural contours of the head when shaping bespoke hats.
Unlike a simple circumference measurement, the conformer records the oval shape and individual variations of the customer’s head. Its numerous adjustable fingers move independently to follow the contours closely. Once the correct shape has been captured, the fingers can be locked securely to prevent the setting from shifting.
The captured shape is then transferred to the formillion. The formillion preserves the resulting oval and serves as a stable guide when shaping, checking, or adjusting a hat. This helps create a more precise fit for custom-made fedoras, western hats, felt hats, and other structured headwear.
