millinery tools for hat blocks, tolliker, pusher and puller downer
Flatten, stretch, and smooth felt while shaping the crown and brim. The specially shaped working surface helps create a crisp, well-defined break line between the crown and brim for a professional finish.
Pusher Downer
Push the blocking cord securely into the groove around the hat block to hold the felt firmly in place while it dries. The smooth hardwood surface glides easily over the cord without snagging or marking the felt.
Puller
Stretch and tension the felt evenly during blocking. The puller gives you greater control while shaping the crown and refining the overall hat form, making it easier to achieve smooth, symmetrical results.
Blocking Rope (Option 2 only)
The woven cotton blocking rope works together with the pusher downer to apply even pressure around the entire crown. It securely holds steamed felt against the hat block while it dries, helping produce accurate and repeatable results.
Each tool is handcrafted from solid hardwood and carefully sanded to create a smooth, comfortable grip. The ergonomic design provides excellent control while reducing hand fatigue during extended workshop sessions. Built for everyday use, these tools deliver reliable performance for years of professional millinery work.
The set works with wool felt, rabbit felt, and beaver felt and is suitable for blocking fedoras, western hats, Homburgs, bowler hats, cloches, theatrical hats, vintage reproductions, and many other custom felt hats.
